#10: Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad

One-third of the way there! I’ve gotta say, I need to reread this book before I write too much. My brother suggested the book and told me to take it slow (despite only being ~100 pages). I did, but I still feel that I will get so much more out of it if I read it again at the end of all this when I have less pressure to move on to my next book. Further, my brother’s version of the book has nearly 400 additional pages of background and context for the novel which I imagine would help greatly in gaining a deeper understanding. So for now, I am not going to spend time writing a summary (partly because I need to get going on the book I was supposed to be reading all week and am only a few chapters into…), but I will come back to this in 2018 when I have finished this reading challenge.

Next up, The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Díaz…
